Dixie Weld & Fab was started in August 1984 by Alan L Hales. Dixie Weld & Fab specializes in all phases of HVAC piping from 1/8” screw to 24” welded pipe. We understand the importance of down time to an HVAC System, and the necessity of scheduling work after hours and on weekends. We pride ourselves in the ability to quickly access any location, from the site of a new school, to the roof of a 40-story office building. We offer shop and mobile welding services. We have welding procedures and can qualify to A.S.M.E # 9, A.P.I. 1104 and A.W.S. D-1.1, Our experience includes: pipe welding, structural, heavy equipment, ornamental iron, repetitive order, and prototype fabrication.

History

To survive the economic down turn of the early 80’s the company focused on the ornamental iron industry, fabricating and installing access gates, fence, and stairways for residential and apartments, As Houston’s economy begin to rebound in the late 80’s and early 90’s, we diversified to fabricate and erect structural steel for commercial property and custom homes. In 1990 we entered the specialized market of custom pipe fabrication for the HVAC industry and this has remained our primary focus.
